Choosing the best type of scaffolding for your purposes

Scaffolding is a vital tool for when you're doing maintenance work on the outside of your house, as it allows you to get high up while also having space to move around on, meaning it has more uses than a ladder. Regarding on what type of project you're doing on the exterior of your house, there are different types of scaffolding that might be appropriate. To get the best solution from your scaffolding hire, there are a few things you should consider when deciding what type of scaffolding you want.

Aerial lift scaffolding

This type of scaffolding is mounted on a truck and allows you to elevate the scaffolding to different heights as you're working. This is a good option if you have to do work on many different levels of your house, or if you need to be able to move the scaffolding quickly. However, you should remember that this type of scaffolding rarely is as stable as non moveable types, meaning that you can't bring too much equipment on top of it. They might also be more expensive to hire than other types as it's both a vehicle and scaffolding. It might also be more expensive as they often contain automatic elevation systems, whereas other types of scaffolding needs to be elevated by hand.

Suspended scaffolding

This type of scaffolding isn't mounted on the ground, but rather attached to the roof or the wall of the building. This type is mostly use for really tall buildings, where it wouldn't be possible to make scaffolding high enough that it can stand on the ground and still be safe for the people working on it. This type of scaffolding is not necessary if you're working on an ordinary two story house. However, if you need to do exterior work on an apartment building, this might be the preferable type to hire. Just make sure that you get a professional to mount it for you in order to make sure it's as safe as possible.

Supported scaffolding

This type of scaffolding is built from a solid base and is therefore preferable when needing the most amount of stability. The scaffolding is built in one place and can't be moved after that, which is why it's not a very good option if you need the scaffolding for multiple locations. If you're painting your house, for example, then supported scaffolding isn't a very good option as you'll need scaffolding that can move around your entire house. However, it is stronger than many other types of scaffolding and can support more weight, meaning that it can be used for large projects where you need to store a lot of building material on the scaffolding.
